Record catalogue
A frontier is the record for one bounded scientific question: findings (vf_*), typed links, sources, review history, and a proof boundary held as replayable state. Vela stores the content-addressed frontier id (vfr_*) that Canopus resolves, cite, and pull with verification. Frontiers compose into atlases and constellations, and can be organized into campaigns.
Frontier catalogue contract
Frontiers are the record roots. The catalogue helps users find and compare them while keeping derived indexes, work queues, maps, and proof packages in their own tracks.
record
Use the catalogue for bounded scientific records: findings, sources, evidence, links, review events, proof state, and correction history.

resolver
Slug, alias, local, and hub lookups help users find records. They do not decide freshness, acceptance, or proof status.

Gaps, benchmark targets, candidate bridges, source imports, and reviewable changes become accepted state only after checks and review.
